Recreational Winter Program Information
U8-U10 Recreational
The Brams United SC’s U8–U10 Recreational program is designed to provide players with a fun, safe, and inclusive game-day experience while supporting continued enjoyment and participation in soccer. Delivered in accordance with Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards and Ontario Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) framework, the program emphasizes learning through play, fair participation, sportsmanship, and developing a lifelong love of the game.
This program is led by Jr coaches and volunteer coaching staff.
This is a game-only recreational program, providing players with the opportunity to participate in one scheduled game each week in a positive and developmentally appropriate environment. The league is intended for players who wish to enjoy soccer through regular game play while continuing to develop their skills in a relaxed, community-focused game setting.
For additional training and callup opportunities and/or more competitive environments please consider (Link comp information for grassroots)
If time permits- before each game, coaches will lead a 10-minute ball activity and team warm-up designed to prepare players physically while providing additional touches on the ball through fun technical activities. The focus is on ensuring players are ready, engaged, and confident before kick-off. Games will be 40 minutes
Games are played in the 5v5 format (including a goalkeeper) Small-sided games provide more opportunities for each player to touch the ball, make decisions, attack, defend, and actively participate throughout the match.
Matches are facilitated by trained Game Leaders, whose primary role is to support a safe, enjoyable, and educational playing environment. Rather than emphasizing competition or results, Game Leaders help maintain the flow of the game, encourage fair play, and reinforce respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, and the game. They are encouraged to facilitate and coach the game for both teams during gameplay.
To promote a positive and enjoyable recreational experience for all participants, Brams United utilizes a fair and balanced team approach throughout the season. Team compositions may vary from week to week to support balanced game play, encourage player interaction with a variety of teammates, and create competitive, developmentally appropriate matches. This approach helps foster sportsmanship, inclusion, confidence, and an enjoyable environment where every player has the opportunity to participate, develop, and have fun. Equipment will be supplied to allow for this to be successful with pinnies etc. as needed and managed by our Jr staff/parent volunteers.
